Blue and Ralph have arrived and they are a little tired but real "gamers". We had "shrimp on the barbie" compliments of Ralph and Pat did up a delicious chicken casserole. We then spent the rest of the evening on the deck enjoying the balmy weather and each others company. This is going to be a good group that will get along well for the next 3 weeks. Tomorrow we do the Independence Day Parade then back to my house for final packing and a cookout. Finally, it will be early to bed and up early on Sunday and shove off for the west. A lifetime of dreaming and a year of planning is about to unfold.
The surprise of the day was a delivery of a New York Cheese Cake from Bob McManus. Thank you Bob, it was enjoyed by all. I promise to find some Starbucks for you while we're on the road. I can't promise a New York bagel but I will try.
Now it's time for some serious rack time.
So I guess the maneuvering watch is about to be set. I'm *very* jealous.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the cheesecake (that was mostly Mary's doing, btw, but I'm happy stealing the credit.)
Take great care: you never know just what you'll run into: http://www.wired.com/autopia/2010/07/jukka-mutanen-excavator-road-trip/
(and you thought it was going to be another bear warning.)
See you in Seattle!!
