I got a phone call from Blue last night and we had a good chat, a few pings and an all around good time. It will be even better when he and Ralph arrive here for the festivities. I've added another event to the itinerary for Saturday July 3rd. Blue asked me why we were leaving on July 4th because that is such a big holiday here and he is anxious to experience it. So, all of you are invited to go with Pat and I to the parade that our Pipe Band will be performing in and Blue can mingle with the crowds and get a feel for what happens in small town America on Independence Day. Maybe we can talk Jim into taking us on the boat out into the middle of Cass Lake for the fireworks display that night. What a send off that will be for us.
Hey Jim; still got the boat?
Ohlord, Doc, if that crowd finds out that Blue is actually a Brit they are lible to tar and feather him and then stake him out in the town square.
ReplyDeleteThat would mean more food at the table for us; hell they let a bunch of us Scots in kilts play in the parade and don't stone us so I think he's safe.
ReplyDeleteWhoa....there is a big difference between a Scot and a Brit. Kinda like the differnce between Alabama nd NYC....don't cha know.
ReplyDeleteHave you found us a place to stay in or around Marquette Mi for our first night on the road?
ReplyDeleteOMG, you are leaving the accommodation details to Ralph? Last time I met up with Ralph, I had to sleep outside this huge rock in the middle of Australia, boy was that cold.
ReplyDeleteJuly the 4th parade, wow, looking forward to it for sure! Cheers mate *_*
I'm missing more than scenery, that's for sure. It's a disappointment.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't made any accommodations yet but will. The Ramada Inn there has a pretty good write up for indoor sleeping or would you want to rough it and camp?
ReplyDeleteCamping? OMG, I just knew I couldn't trust you to travel in style!! lol
ReplyDeleteUh Oh; you didn't tell Blue about "camping" Marine Corps Style?
ReplyDeleteI'll look that up and I'll get with Jim tonight but I'm sure that camping the first night will be fine; let's go for it
Ooh Rah!
Boat, somebody's got a boat? I'll check with the Admiral..
ReplyDelete1st night plans are set at Perkins Park by a lake just Northwest of Marquette.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a pretty nice place.
Go to marquette.mi.us and then click on Perkins Park.
Michigan camping, ahh yes, the hardest ground in the U.S. Good thing I brought a couple of cans of the more exotic insects that Florida offers to bring about the correct mood....
