42 days to THE RIDE!
Well, I'm starting to pack stuff up for the trip back to Michigan. 96 outside and the sky is tropical hot blue, not a cloud to be seen. Dar is at the beach, Bairn has his bath and is laying in front of the fan and the more I think about it the more I should take the bike out for a ride. One thing I have found out that you can become severely dehydrated from riding in heat like this and if I'm correct we will be riding in heat just like this except dryer. Better make plans to take lots of water and way to hang it from your handlebar or at least an easy access point so you can get at it. Going to a Hawg Roast tomorrow given by the local Harley group, should be alot of fun. Not having much luck finding a coffee pot down here, but I'm sure one will show up either here or up north. I'll go get the trailer next week & check and repack the wheel bearings. Fred, I'll be seeing you about the 8th or 9th of June. Oh, looks like Blue will have to drink water, can't find any good Aussie beer down here......

Jim, I think you've been out in the sun too long. If it reaches 96f or so up where we are going, people will be dropping like flies. You might want to pack a couple of long sleeve undies.
ReplyDeleteY'all do be careful out riding. We've had some nasty fatal bike wrecks here in Charleston the past 2 weeks. One involved a driver of one of those new Can-Am 3 wheeler.
Don't worry about a coffee pot. Push come to shove we can just use an ordinary pot and throw coffee grounds into boiling water then strain the grounds out with our teeth.
You're from South Carolina and you have teeth? Will wonders never cease.
ReplyDeleteWe can come up with a coffee pot that will fit our needs by shoppping at the local Army/Navy store.
I'm in St. Louis this weekend with the kids and the temps are going into the 90's tomorrow. Just in time for us to pack up and head home. We'll be competing in Alma next weekend and then ready to welcome Jim back to Michigan for a few test rides before we shove off. I still need to get my bike in for the 5,000 mile ride oil change and maintenance but that will only take a few days and I'll schedule it when I'm fully booked with piping.
Yep, got teeth. Can't say much for some other parts though. Nothing has fallen off yet but it's a wonder.lol
ReplyDeleteGoing to get the "chuckwagon" a tune up or at least a computer scan to see if a systems are "go".
Got a sleeping bag for Blue and yeah, Sharon said to let him use one of the air mattress'. Dog-gone if she ain't going to spoil that boy.
