70 days until the Ride

Posted by Picasa

The time keeps getting shorter and I'm running out of things to plan for. But, I did find this photo of Ray Frase (101st Airborne). The gentleman on the right is his brother (can't remember his name) and the ugly rascal on the left is an ugly rascal.

We now have photos posted of everyone who is going on the trip. Can't wait to get our first group photo and get this ride on the road.

Installed highway pegs today. Will have to go for a ride to see how much adjustment they need. Helmet lock will have to wait until I get the highway pegs adjusted since it mounts right under them. I also need a special screwdriver for the installation. I knew the low price from Harley was a come on. I can't wait to see what the special tool is going to set me back.

I also will wait for the rider back rest. Seems I need to remove the rider backrest, which is supposed to be quick release, but isn't. Good thing we have a few days before leaving for me to figure all this stuff out.

Jim called today and he's at a "Bike Fest" in Ocala, Florida. Pictures will be posted later today or tomorrow.

Ride Safe; Hey Blue how about some photos of your new (old) bike.

  1. I'm doing some pre-planning on what we'll need for those camping nights. Does any one have a propane lamp? I'll have propane tank and hot plate/stove. I have battery operated camp lamps but a propane one be mo-betta.

  2. I'll see if I can find one; maybe Jim or Ray have one. Are they expensive? I saw a tip to bring a string of Christmas lights. They do a good job of illuminating the area without being too bright to disturb other campers. I have some to bring along.

  3. Looks like I can get a propane lamp for about $30.00 at Bass Pro Shop. I'll take care of it. The way we have blackouts here I need one anyway.

  4. Dog-gone Fred, haven't you done enough already?

  5. Ralph; when I've done enough then I'll die. Until then I'll just keep doing what I do best; being the poster child for morons all over the world.

  6. Go to a hardware store with your foot peg thingies and look in their bargin bin. They will probably have a set of screwdriver bits and one of them will be "special." difference of $1.98 & $20.00. I either need some offset pegs or regular ones with highly polished wood blocks on them so my legs can reach them. I think the "Man Book" says I can't do that, even with a ricer.
