And I just got the word it's another surgery (procedure really) on my esophagus. It got scheduled for May 14th which gives me about 6 weeks for recovery; plenty of time. But, not to worry, I WILL be making the trip. Nothing short of a dirt nap will keep me from doing this. I really thought #4 was the end of it and I was cured. My doctor thought so too but, alas, not to be; for now anyway. But there are so many more who have it a lot worse than I do that I'll just consider this a minor inconvenience and slog on. Besides, what else can I do? So, in the words of my USMC D.I.; I'll suck it up and complete the mission.
Sorry if this is a downer; it came as a real surprise.

Fred, wishing you the very best mate....keep your spirits up and I am sure all will be good for you.
ReplyDeleteI just checked out the local bike shop, my last bike was a Kawasaki VN 800...not sure now exactly what to get, but I don't feel the need for too large a bike, 800-1000 cc is good enough as I am only going to be doing local rides etc. I saw a VN 900cc which is quite nice, shaft drive instead of chain, which for some reason I think may be better. Brand new would be AUD$13k drive away, or a 2nd hand one for $9k. Hmmmm....now to work this out!
Anyway, in the meantime, keep positive!
Blue *_*
Doc, I posted elsewhere to keep positive as Blue says. Our hopes and prayers are there for ya.
ReplyDeleteWe'll make the trip if we have to use sign lanuage and/or write notes back and forth. We'll even chock your bike in the truck and tie you onto the seat if necessary.
Hang in there Mate.
